     BIOGRAPHY
Kate arrived in Port Phillip aboard the "Duke of Bronte" on the 18th
August1849 together with her sister Mary and brother Henry.
Following her marriage, she lived for several years at Tower Hill,
Koroit, Vic before she and her husband moved to North Queensland.
There they lived at "Mount Surprise". Kate was one of only 3 women in
this remote district.

Mary who travelled to Australia with her sister Kate and brother Henry
to live with her other brother John at "Injemira", later moved to
Woodford following her marriage to Robert Fraser. There they lived at
"Rosehaugh" , but later moved to Glenthompson where they established a
permanent residence which they called "Lovatdale".
